What a Cabo charter costs.
Rates on request — quoted from our supplier relationships, not marked up from a listing site. Below is exactly how charter pricing works in Los Cabos, so you can read any quote you receive, from us or anyone else.
What drives the rate
Four things set the number on a Los Cabos charter, roughly in order of weight:
- Length and class. A 60-foot motor yacht and a 108-foot superyacht are different orders of magnitude, not different trims.
- Hours on the water. Most vessels carry a three-hour minimum. Full-day and overnight charters are usually priced as a package rather than by the hour.
- Guest count. Rates typically include a base number of guests — commonly ten — with a per-head charge above that, up to the vessel's licensed maximum.
- Season and date. Christmas, New Year, spring break and Thanksgiving price differently from a Tuesday in September, and the best boats go first.
What is normally included
On most of the fleet we book, the hourly rate is closer to all-inclusive than people expect. Typically included:
- Professional crew — captain, deckhands, and on most vessels a private chef and bartender
- Food and open bar, with the menu set to your group
- Fuel for the standard cruising route
- Snorkel gear and water toys, included on some vessels and on request on others
What sits outside the rate
These are the line items that surprise people, so we say them plainly:
- 16% IVA — Mexican value-added tax, plus any card processing fee, unless a quote states otherwise.
- Crew gratuity — 15–20% is customary in Los Cabos and is not built into the rate.
- Extra guests above the included count, charged per head.
- Special requests — a specific chef, a particular wine, a photographer, transfers beyond the standard marina pickup.

Why we quote rather than publish
Charter rates in Los Cabos move with the season, the vessel and the day. A published number is out of date within weeks, and it is almost never the number you would actually pay once guest count, hours and date are real. We would rather quote the rate we can genuinely secure for your dates than advertise one we would have to walk back.
Send the date, the group size and the occasion, and we will come back with two or three vessels that fit, each with the all-in figure and what it includes.
Common questions
How much is a yacht charter in Cabo San Lucas?
It depends most on vessel size and hours. A smaller motor yacht on a three-hour minimum sits at one end; a 100-foot-plus megayacht for a full day sits at the other. We quote on request against your actual date and guest count rather than publishing a rate that would not hold.
Is food and drink included?
On most of the vessels we book, yes — a private chef, bartender, dining and open bar are part of the charter. A few are priced as vessel-and-crew only with catering arranged separately. We tell you which you are looking at in the quote.
What is not included in the quoted rate?
16% IVA and any processing fee, crew gratuity of 15–20%, guests above the included count, and special requests such as a specific chef or photographer.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak weeks — Christmas, New Year, spring break, Thanksgiving — as early as you can; the best vessels go first. Outside those, a few weeks is usually comfortable, though good boats on a Saturday still move quickly.
How much is the deposit?
50% reserves the charter, with the balance due ten days before departure. A full refund applies at 72 hours or more before departure, and individual vessel terms are confirmed in writing at booking.
Where do charters depart from?
IGY Marina in Cabo San Lucas for most of the fleet, unless the vessel notes another berth. We arrange transport to the marina as part of the trip.
