The Best Time to Visit Cabo San Lucas

When to visit Cabo San Lucas — month by month on weather, crowds, whale season, and villa and yacht pricing, from a local Los Cabos concierge.

There's no single best time to visit Cabo — there's a best time for your trip. Here's how the year actually breaks down.

October to May — peak season

Dry, sunny, and warm, with low humidity. This is prime Cabo: the weather is reliably beautiful and the town is alive. It's also the busiest and priciest window, and the best villas and yachts book out early — often months ahead for holidays and spring weeks. If you're targeting Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, or spring break, confirm as soon as your dates are set.

The sweet spots

Late April to early June and late September to October tend to offer the best balance — great weather, thinner crowds, and better rates before or after the peak rush. These shoulder weeks are our favorite recommendation for travelers with flexibility.

June to September — summer

Hot and humid, with a real (if usually brief) chance of storms in the later summer. The upside is genuine: more availability, softer pricing on villas and yachts, and warm water. For a pool-and-villa trip with a private chef, summer can be excellent value.

Whale season

Gray and humpback whales pass through roughly December through April, peaking mid-winter. If seeing them matters, plan inside that window — details in our whale watching guide.

Events to plan around

Big fishing tournaments (fall), spring break (March), and the winter holidays all spike demand and pricing. Depending on the trip you want, these are either the main event or the weeks to avoid. We'll tell you which for your dates.

The bottom line

Tell us the experience you're after — quiet luxury, a lively group weekend, whale season, best value — and we'll point you at the right window and lock the pieces before they sell out.
